The Glamorous Life

It is 8am. I am putting on a brave face in the dentist chair. What brought me here to this terrifying place? The Mean Girls Club. What is the Mean Girls Club? A little background... The Mean Girls Club is a New Orleans clique that takes great pleasure in tearing down others.

Over the last year, I tolerated -- "We don't even like you!" or "We only hang out with you because you give us money (rent)." Being called a "midget" every weekend made me feel like Cinderella with her ugly step sisters. I often felt mentally abused.

The last straw was when the dumbest Mean Girl poked fun of my "brown tooth". I really didn't have a brown tooth, but over the years it stopped matching the other teeth. I never thought anyone would notice, but leave it to the Mean Girls to discover it and poke fun of me.

One by one... clique members approached and asked if I had a brown tooth. I feigned ignorance, but I could see the dumb one recruiting others to torment me. If a handsome guy approached me, the dumb one would get up and gleefully whisper my horrible secret. OMFG! How much more cruel can these people get?! Why do I even hangout with them?!

I had to explain that the cost of redoing the crown and matching it with to rest of the teeth would cost upwards of $2,000. (crown + laser whitening) It was at this moment I made a vow to exit the clique forever.

It was this memory that kept me going strong as the dental hygienist stuffed my mouth with gauze. Four rounds of laser treatment over two hours left my teeth super sensitive. Then my temporary crown was placed. I was anxious to see if all the misery and pain were worth it.

When the dental hygienist gave me a hand mirror, I almost cried tears of joy. I had a beautiful white smile. No more could I be tortured by The Mean Girls Clique. And that, my friends, is so fetch!

Hey peeps! You may have noticed I haven't blogged in a while. That was purely intentional. The last few weeks have been full of drama. The older I have gotten (I am now 40), the more I have learned to keep some stuff private.

Did you enjoy the goofy football videos? I thought I'd give you a glimpse into my world. YES... I throw the ball awkward and slip down a lot. In my defense, the grass was very slick. That is why I didn't rush the QB. LOL.

In other news, my job has thankfully gotten less stressful. We hired a perfectly qualified accountant to replace the one that was let go. I am currently taking pre-requisite summer courses after work. These 14 hour days of work and school is ruff.

Yes, I am still set to enter Nursing School in six months. To quit my job and be a poor nursing student for the next 18 months is going to challenge me on so many levels. I certainly can't be blowing wads of cash at the Bourbon Pub each weekend like before. Vacations? Forget it. I will probably be reduced eating sandwiches everyday. Ugh.

This is a large sacrifice I am undertaking. Quite honestly -- it scares the hell out of me. But I know it is the right thing to do. I'm ready for the challenge.

Redneck Yard Football

I played football in the yard with my twin brother and two nephews. I am the one in the blue "Seattle FD" t-shirt that throws the interception at the very beginning. You can't tell from the video, but it was raining and very slick on the grass.Enjoy!

Out and About with Paparazzi

Our cameras caught Jimbo, Durban Bud, Carl catching a Tila Tequila strip show. They are big fans of the sizzling hot and NOT crazy gal.

Rumor is that the night did not end well for these fellow bloggers. Jimbo somehow lost his pet turtle. TJ got in a fight with his husbear for maxing out their ATM card. Carl left bitter because Charlene Hilton gave free lap dances to everyone but him. Gays and their drama. (rolling eyes)

Happy Times

Robert Frost once wrote a poem about the road not taken. Recent circumstances have had me thinking about that famous poem. Do you know what? I may very well be on the right path. I have broken through several chains that have been weighing me down. Free will is awesome. These are happy times indeed! :)

Gay Days 2010

I had a terrific time at Gay Days. Everyone was fun and welcomed me with open arms:

My Furry Host:

Do you recognize this former blogger in the middle? He's the adorable Kevin of Actor Schmactor. His blog has gotten a tad dusty.

I also had the pleasure of meeting the blogger known as: Sorted Lives. He is a sugary sweet guy! I regret that I didn't have the time to spend with both bloggers. Next trip, I'll have to make up for that.
