MmHmm

Sometimes I wish I could feel nothing. When I was on Adderall XR, it worked wonderfully in drying up my emotions. It gave me a tough exterior that no one could breach. I was Superman -- impervious to others. I was protected. It didn't matter what they said or thought... I had my armor.
But I didn't like how I felt on that medicine. It wasn't me. I am not a cold person. I feel. I'm emotional. I am sensitive to everything around me.
Lately, I've been getting a lot of flack from others. They have all come up with my problem. Apparently, I suffer from a bad case of "narcissistic personality disorder". MmHmm.
Yes, the evidence will show that I do care a great deal about how I look. A Facebook status update may easily contain "I leg pressed 550#'s today". I am also well known for putting plenty of pictures of myself on this blog and on FB. Oh, the travesty!
I do toot my own horn when it comes to athletic achievement. "I defeated a foe in tennis 6-1, 6-4" or "I've won my division in the Flex League... YAY!" These accomplishments are offensive to others and I really should STOP bragging about them. MmHmm.
Do you know what I've decided? I can just as easily point out your faults and prescribe YOU therapy. That's right motherfuckers! Some of you are in massive need of JADED (Carl Syndrome) therapy. A few of you need to go to couple therapy to learn novel concepts like monogamy. Quite a few of you need therapy for sexual addiction because you are a walking petri dish! Others need to check into Betty Ford and/or a FAT FARM. The list can go on and on...
So, before you are quick to point out my faults, pull the plank out of your own eyes. MmHmm... I said it! I already feel better. :)

Good for you! And there is nothing wrong with stating your achievements. Sounds to me like some of your "friends" might be projecting.
Would you hold my purse while I fuck some of them up? LOL
The pics you chose are perfect.
"When I was on Adderall XR, it worked wonderfully in drying up my emotions."
I am willing to bet your ex would agree with this quote......
You know - just because we tease you doesn't mean we don't love you ... ;) I mean you do put yourself out there and frankly it's sooooo much fun and soooo easy to poke the bear when the bear responds so quickly and vociferously. I'm just saying ....
It is your blog and Facebook account so do whatever you like and ignore those negative comments.
Mmhmm... I SURE DO bite back! Grr... you'll see Scott. ;)
Well shit! I fall under all categories...I am narcassitic, need betty ford, fat farm, sex addict, open relationship... I truly am driving the bus to hell... (by the way, the last four rows of seats will be removed for a sling and a bar)...smooches!
Brett, I love you just the way you are!
Brett...darlin'
I've been following you, your blog, and "other" places for a long time. I genuinely like you.
But I seriously need to ask: Why do you care what other people think about you? What difference does it make? Why does it bother you? And who CARES what other people think about you? I'm just wondering...
Hugggggggs,
~Raw~
I love your pics - you should post more and us less or no clothing at all.
I love hearing about your success in working out and in tennis - I celebrate your wins and feel your agony of defeat.
All we can ever ask of bloggers is that they be themselves.
Thanks!
ps. my word was "dicizing"
Monogamy? Isn't that a piece of wood? :p
You can't have it both ways Mr.
Confidence in your skills doesn't always have to equate gloating. Be proud of yourself w/o trying to rub everyone else's nose in it.
You can't act all John Wayne and then throw a tantrum when you find out someone is talking unfavorably about you. No one is liked by everyone.
Honestly, when you let your guard down and just be yourself, you have so many charming, endearing qualities that shine thru all on their own w/o you having to "put on a face."
And yes, I'm giving you advice on your faults because that's what friends do. (Besides, Cajuns have to stick together, even if I'm only half Cajun.)
Take this from someone who has been there.
Don't worry about what other people think. Be proud of your achievements. But always remember our achievements are insignificant next to the achievements of those who try to make this world and those who live on it a little better than before.
I take those FB comments you get as VERY tongue in cheek. But maybe this post is too.
No one else is truly gonna toot your horn (stop! you know what i mean), so why not do it yourself.
Isn't that what blogging and FB is about anyway?
Great post. You unload, baby. Lord knows others do it on you.
