A Weekend Retreat

Have you ever heard of Natchitoches, Louisiana? This historic city was established in 1714 and is located in NW Louisiana. According to Wikipedia, Natchitoches was founded as a French outpost on the Red River for trade with Spanish-controlled Mexico. The settlement's site was established near a village of Natchitoches Indians... hence the name. You may better know this city for being the site where Steel Magnolias was filmed.

I will be spending the weekend in Natchitoches with three Heauxmeaux couples. We are all staying at the same bed and breakfast (Andrew Morris House). Our wonderful hosts have assigned us our rooms and created a full weekend itinerary. I am thankful because organizing a gaggle of gays is NOT easy.

This will be a great relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of New Orleans. The best part is sharing the adventure with friends. I'll be sure to post pics!

What a beautiful picture! One year, traveling cross country, we had breakfast in Natchez, MS, a long lunch in Natchitoches and spent the night in Nacogdoches, TX. Never did learn to pronounce Natchitoches.

Sounds - and looks - magical. Have a great time, Handsome. (btw - a 'gaggle of gays'? Never heard that before. I really like it.)

What a phenomenal photograph! That tree must be well over 400 years old. It's a beauty. Have fun this weekend :-)

As someone who recently herded a faggle and extended family (20+ of them)into planning a cruise vacation in March, I can sympathize. Looks like an awesome weekend. Have a fantastic time!
