Full of Sheep

How are you liking your President now? Hmm...? I would take a gander and say he doesn't look that much different from George W. Bush.

Let's get real. All politicians are full of sheep. You know it. I know it. We all know it. I am not one who hangs onto a soundbite and go "baa... baa.. baa..." to every bullshit line delivered.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR GLBT CIVIL RIGHTS?! YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING!!!

To placate the sheep, a cookie was tossed to us gay folks. I love how it was buried deep into the speech. Obama said... This year, I will work with Congress and our military to finally repeal the law that denies gay Americans the right to serve the country they love because of who they are.

Whoopty Doo. Can't you try a little harder? Can't you put some wood into your committment for GLBT civil rights?

What about saying, I am gonna yank that stupid ass law down and forbid our military from ever discriminating against gays and lesbians again. We are gonna clean up that military culture RIGHT NOW goddammit! If you're excited about that, just wait to see me end those redneck gay adoption bans.

Of course, this is exactly why I will never be President. I don't mince words and I'm not a pussy.

You are so full of shit. Everyone knows if you were ever the President you would never make it out of the Oral Office.

Obama's lack of committment to GLBT rights is the number one issue I have with him. If he would follow through with his campaign promises made in that regard, I wouldn't be so off put by him.

Bitter, table for one? (In spite of the fact that I know you love a good barb and that I even tend to agree with you somewhat). Smooches, handsome.

Then get out there and do something. Stop sitting on the sidelines.

We've got to "FIGHT THE POWER, FIGHT THE POWERS THAT BE..."

You could never be president because we would never be able to see you behind the podium. :-)

I think the problem is, Brett, that you still see this as an Obama vs. Hillary thing. You've made it clear a hundred times over that you'd have preferred Hillary to him. We get it. Maybe she'd have been better on GLBT rights, maybe not. We don't know and we'll never know now. Even if she were elected in 4 or 8 years, the climate will be different and we won't know what she could have done *today*.

The choice we got was between Obama and McCain. And we know, from McCain's post-State of the Union comments, that he would be pushing no such thing right now.

Of course we need to be tough on Obama and keep up the pressure. But there's no reason to get insulting.

What's insulting is the "Baa Baa Baaing" of the sheep. They believe every word because they are fed spoonfuls of lies. Tomorrow is promised, but never delivered.

Only in the end will they realize the promises were empty. The excuse will always be that our nation has more pressing issues.

Unlike you, I am not so forgiving because I was NEVER a sheep. I can think for myself, ask questions, and see with my own eyes REALITY.

You know it's really bad when people start sayin' they wished they'd voted for McCain. I thought we'd get past his inexperience with his actions. Boy, was I wrong.

I sure wish the damn president would quit focusing on the small issues of the economy and the war, and FINALLY tackle the big issue of gay equality!

You look like a fool every time you write about politics. You should stick to topics you have some hope of understanding.

Not very much different than George Bush? Are you kidding me?
I am so sorry that you aren’t able to be openly gay and kill innocent people in the two wars that are going on. Is this really the issue that has our panties in a wad? How does this really compare to the struggles of other disenfranchised minority groups?

Yes, I know you really wanted Hillary to win, but don’t forget that it was her husband who signed into law the only federally anti-gay bills in history – Don’t ask, Don’t Tell and Defense of Marriage Act. If Bush had done this, we would be calling for his head.

Gays are the most exclusive of any group of people on the planet. It is odd that we are constantly crying about our rights when we discriminate even amongst ourselves.

Thank goodness this president doesn't need the gay vote.

I agree Brett. Gay and lesbian issues have been left in the dust!

I also want a single payer national health care plan damn it all to hell! This system sucks and the medical industry does not care about the sick. What they care about is keeping a percentage of profit that is supported by the system no matter what!

And I believe that Hilliary would probably not have made the late night under the table deals with big business and the religions right! But who knows for certain. I keep hoping someone will do what is right, not what is popular with big business.
