SNOW IN BATON ROUGE TODAY!

I am supposed to be at work, but I am witnessing a Christmas miracle! It is snowing in Baton Rouge! This is a video I did on the scene just moments ago.

From the French Quarter in New Orleans, E.Shrew took the following pictures this morning:

The Creole Queen Riverboat

Andrew Jackson Statue

"I don't know how to drive in snow"... that's so cute. Please don't come to the Colorado Mountains anytime soon! :-) YOU DRIVE SLOW - and start out in second gear (yes, your vehicle can start in second). :-)

Have a great day! Enjoy the snow!

Ah... the sweetness of those southern boys.

WIMP!!! LOL :P

OK, I know, it's not something you're used to. But try shoveling out 4 foot snowbanks. Then we'll talk.

I remember those rare snow days growing up in Shreveport. The city comes to a halt ... folks clear the stores of essentials ... and us kids would hoot 'n holler cuz we didn't have to go to school. Enjoy the day! Get your inner tube out and find a hill Brett!

We spent a lovely day in the snow. Got a snowman built, some snow angles done and many, many snowball fights!

What a treat!

As someone who puts up with months (and FEET) of the stuff every year, it (pardon the expression) melts my heart to see you so pixelated over a dusting of snow.

And I agree with FXOffroad: Please don't try and drive in it! It's an acquired skill.

Brett,

Last snow that "stuck" in Baton Rouge was 1988 - so 20 years ago. That was the year before the big freeze that caused the Exxon explosion.

More snow shots here if you want some.

I'm jealous. Even though northern California is much colder than Louisiana, we get snow every 70 not 10 years. Enjoy.

The snow was SOOO much fun!! We don't get it often enough for it to be a real nuisance, so we get to just enjoy it for the Xmas miracle that it is. :)

E.Shrew's N.O. pics are gorgeous!! It's so surreal to see the city like that...

frequent reader, first time commentor, but the snow was amazing last night - here in Pasadena Texas (Houston's armpit), it was amazing. We got lots and I took lots of pics of the farm, but none of the chicks - they were too snuggled up in the pen.

The last time I was in this type of snow was last year in NYC.

Love your blog btw...

Richard

It must be mass hysteria down there.

It snowed on our ichthyology trip down to Baton Rouge. Us Cheeseheads were laughing our asses off at how y'all were freaking out.

Actually there was snow that stuck in baton rouge when i was at LSU in 2000 :) I came back from visiting home in NY to find snow at my apartment. We even made a snowman. Ironically, it had been in the 40's-50's all week in NY.

Oh you big pussy! You sound like Andy Warhol at Studio 54, "I've never seen so much snow".
That video was so HOT:that white stuff all over your face and you even opened your mouth to get some on your tongue. Awesome.
Great pics too!

I think it's sweet that you are getting such a kick out of something we all up north can's stand.

You should go make a snowman!

Pfssssst - a couple of inches of the white stuff and you're all giddy.

Tell you what, c'mon up to old New England for a spell during a winter Nor'easter and we'll see how much you like the white stuff then!

Having your compact car buried by the snow removal guys and saving a parking space you dug out with a lawn chair are some of the more special moments of living in Boston during the winter.

Of course on the upside, it's so much fun peeling off the many layers of winter clothing of hot guys like yourself that make it such a special time of the year.

Yeah, yeah, I know - I'm a 'Ho.
