Goodbye Josh

Josh Norris Memorial

Josh was a 22 year old Jefferson Parish deputy shot in the line of duty. He had his whole life and career ahead of him. The sad thing is that Josh had only been on the job for 11 months when he was gunned down. He had just gotten off of training and was riding solo for less than a month. Josh was engaged to his girlfriend on July 4th and was killed the next day. They had filmed this for use on public access TV locally and were gonna use it for recruiting. Goodbye Josh. We have all just lost a great man in the community.

Brett: There is nothing good that can be said of the wanton "wasting" of a young law-enforcement officer!
I imagine that church where his memorial was held was crowded. CB

Well thats sad. With the pay they receive, I have no idea why anyone is willing.

Oh and in response to hiding under which desk. Please be at every desk I pass every day. Work, home, coworker's desks, my boss' the ones on display at office depot if I go there... I have a lot of pressure.

When are you coming back to SF? I didn't get enough Cajun time.

It's really sad. In NYC, a 22 year old was shot twice in the face last Monday, and was on life support until yesterday, when they took him off. He died last night. The three guys who did it, have all been indicted. It was a scene when they were going to jail, over 150 uniformed officers lined the walk to the jailhouse. Those prisoners are in for it in jail.

Now this is why I think that guns should be completely outlawed everywhere in the world. Using a gun to kill someone is such a show of cowardice. Hell, we need to go back to the medieval period and just fight with swords and bare fists. If you want to kill someone, you should have the balls to do it by your own hands.

That's so sad. Thank you for sharing that. Does anyone know who the female vocalist is in the background?

My ex-wife Rebecca, is a Deputy for Jefferson Parish, and I remember seeing the headline and rushing to read the paper. Words cannot describe the sadness in my heart. I know you are proud of him as I am Becky for there is no one else I look up to more than her for doing what she does. My prayers go out to the Norris family for thier loss and my prayers go out to all law enforcement and thier families. God bless you all. JD
