PROGRAMMING NOTE:

The previous blog entry was yanked after it was a ratings loser. It certainly was NOT the typical fluffy post you see on blogs these days. I am supposed to be the Sandra Dee of Jiggy Dancing. For an established blogger with a brand image (but no advertisers), I am supposed to be palatable to the masses. Simply put, my post about my "mentor" the crystal meth user was probably too dark and personal for anyone to read. It was about a dream I had. The first dream I can remember having in a very long time. It was so memorable and touched me that I wrote about the stream of conscienciousness floating around my head afterwards. Now, I can throw out an eye rolling pic of myself and generate 15-25 comments in one day. The silence after this post was deafening. It sounded to me like a big THUD! Since I got the feeling it was probably too personal and too shocking... I yanked it. My dick is not bigger than Rosie O'Donnel's. Just in case you were wondering.

I wish I could have read it. That's the point of a blog. To share what you're thinking and find out what others think. I can't imagine what could have been in there for it to be yanked.
I'll take you dick no matter the size.

I read your post, and enjoyed it. I didn't comment mostly because it left me thinking. Don't be afraid to post the downs as well as the ups, it shows us who you really are and no one is always up.

I wish I could have read it too. I read everyday, and it must not have been up too long.

That post was up for over 8 hours yesterday during the day. When it didn't get any comments, I thought "OH SHIT".. perhaps I went into something too taboo. Then I finally got a comment from an anonymous poster that had "Once a fuckup always a fuckup". It was at that point that I made up my mind that the post needed to be yanked. Perhaps this was a knee jerk reaction. But I totally deleted the post. I can't just post it back. Sorry about the knee jerk reaction.

Writing about YOUR thoughts shouldn't be about ratings! Don't let yourself be driven by how you are perceived. You know what I mean, bud! It only serves to take away from the 'person' you really are. Hugs.

OMG - you didn't get a comment for 8 whole hours? Dude, some guys would kill for that popularity. LOL! (OK, I'm just kidding, I know what you normally get, so I get your meaning)

Basically, different posts will get different number and types of comments. It's just how people react. It's even trickier if you keep shifting gears like I do. But it is pretty normal, IMO.

Example: put up a post with pics of yourself (especially if you meet with approval), you'll get a bunch of comments. Make a witty post, probably the same. Make a sad post, get lots less. Make a political post, you'll probably get a cautious silence.

Don't read too much into it. People absorb different stories differently. And yeah, it's true that if people come expecting the usual and they get something very different, they are caught off guard and are probably not ready to say anything.

And there was nothing wrong with your post either, btw.

I would say what I usually say in situations like this, but you know what that is....

I missed it, too bad for me. Most of my really deep posts don't get many comments either. It isn't that people don't read, they just don't know what to say sometimes. I'd bet your low comment posts are the highest read.

Just a thought
