Snowed under in Dallas?
On the day before my trip to Dallas, there is a winter storm warning in effect until 6pm. A winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet, and ice are expected. Hmm... is a Southern city like Dallas properly prepared for a snow storm? What impact will this have on the local airports? I am set to fly into Love field tomorrow afternoon. Will my flight be delayed or cancelled all together?. Hmm... I'll just have to wait and see.

Brett,
I have flown into Dallas many, many times dealing with the wintery mix. You might have a bit of a delay, but it is rare for them to cancel flights completly unless it is a HUGE storm. I know Jacksonville, TX, which is about 125 miles South of Dallas does have ice already, which means Dallas is getting the brunt. I hope you do not have any problems getting in. I like to think that you are in the same state as me...even though you are 200 miles away, I can almost feel your warmth.
Have a wonderful time baby and let us know how it all goes there for ya.
Hey Brett, we'll keep our fingers crossed. I know you've been looking forward to it (and they have been getting all prepared for your visit).......gosh, we'll all be on pins and needles! Are you taking a copy of the Christmas poster with you?
I'm sure it'll be a landing you'll never forget.....
one that you've always gotten on a sunny day, even!
Sorry to dissapoint your "excitement" of the unpredictable.
;-)
it's not the airport you have to worry about, it's the drivers on the streets!!! i was in dallas when it snowed once and got hit 3 different times and none of them were my fault... they don't handle it very good... well, not like chicagoans do anyway... on a bright note, the car i was in was a rental... have fun and remember to press and really really really starch those shirts like they do up there!!!
The forecast basically is for chance of sleet/snow today. Very cold tonight. The forecast for tomorrow is sunny and highs in the upper 40's. You should be fine. The storm is moving North East. Hell in Dallas right now the streets are damp is all with no sleet or snow. It should be fine.
Wow..that's a little bit scary because I am leaving for Dallas tomorrow at around noon by driving. Thanks guys for being my weathermen.
Have a safe flight, Brett.
Brian D.
It will be fine. You flying on Southwest? Southwest doesn't give a shit. They'll land it on I-45 if necessary! hahaha
The high tomorrow is around 55, so any ice or snow will be long gone by the time you arrive.
Oh I hope you don't have problems getting to Dallas, Have fun and take lots of pictures!
Just have fun Brett, and don't worry about the flight. You best be givin' me a call from the "Markster's" house!!!!
And by the way, its U>S>C!!!! U>S>C!!!!
