LSU vs Tenneessee Game
LSU should have blown Tennessee away. Our offense moved the ball at will. But, after four turnovers, the Tigers let the Vols stay in the game. Thank God for LSU's great offense.
FINAL SCORE: LSU 28, Tenneessee 24. WOOHOO!
By the way, I was steaming mad at the head ref. I could have sworn he had money riding on the game since LSU had 8 penalties to Tennessee's none by halftime.
Congrats to the LSU Tigers! Sorry...Large Tony... it was a great game.

Great game! ... now can you help SC beat Arkansas?
It WAS a good game, Brett. And congrats to LSU.
Yeah, LSU's offense really did a great job of controlling the ball and clock. But to say "move at will" is a bit of an exaggeration. It was only a 4 point game, Tenn had to be doing something right.
You have to admit that, considering we had a freshman QB playing his first game and LSU's offense controlling possession as much as they did it should not have been so close a game.
Penalties did not put our points on the board. And the penalty calls were because you made penalties. That was pretty clear. If the refs were taking bribes,(which I'm not saying they were) it was in LSU's favor (that fourth quarter fumble that we recovered but was ruled down instead of a fumble.)
But LSU DID play better and deserves the win...even with the "fumble that wasn't." :-)
We had our chance to hold on to the lead and win on 4th and 8, and just didn't get it done.
And let me congratulate you, too, Brett, for being a classy winner. I have to admit that I came here expecting some ugliness. ;-)
Glad to see it wasn't there.
OK Brett....Now isn't Mr. LT a classy guy! A true sportman!
Well, the questionable call came when LSU kicked the ball and it touched Tennessee player's hand. It should have been a touchdown awarded to LSU. But... the head ref wasn't haven't it. The whistle had already blown when LSU's QB fumbled the ball. A whistle will always stop play no matter what.
There are rules to officiating, as well as the game...
The call you refer to as questionable was questionable at the time...But the review answered the question: not ruled a touchdown because the direction of the ball did not change (as the replayed showed) which is what would have happened if it bounced off the player. When a question is answered, it's no longer questionable.
As far as the whistle call on the fumble (which you admit is a fumble) a ref should never blow the whistle when he can't see the ball.
That is RULE ONE of officiating.
No one saw that ball until the play was over. Yes, a whistle will stop a play no matter what. Even an early one. THAT is why THAT is the questionable play. If he had handled the whistle properly it would have at least been reviewable. Question never answered. Still questionable.
I don't know, Brett. Next year, maybe the bet should be that whomever loses must post a picture on his blog wearing the other teams tee shirt and a big ol' toothy grin. That way, there's still a sense of sportsmanship and all.
You'ns take this too seriously.
BUT - have you followed my OSU Buckeyes lately?!? We're doing pretty well indeed!
As a Bama fan.....please OHHH please go easy on us. Ill be there, the one with the paper bag over my head, The unknown Bama fan. RTR
