Giving Whipping Boy Some Credit
Well... I am going to finally give Whipping Boy some credit. He played valiantly this evening. I was leading the first set 6-5 and had the advantage to win the set. Whipping Boy snatched that away from me and forced us into a 7 point tie-breaker game. He ran away in the tie-breaker game and won the first set 7-6. In the second set, I was behind 5-6 before forcing yet another tie-breaker game. I bolted out to a strong start in the tie-breaker game and held on to win. After this game, it was lightening and beginning to rain, so we called the match a "tie". I am sure we'll both be very sore tomorrow after playing 26 games for over two hours. Whipping Boy moves up the rankings with our "tie".

Everyone needs to give Brett a lot of credit these days. This post is remarkable growth for Brett. Without any poking or prodding he posted about his non- victorious tennis match. He does show more and more maturity lately. (i would like more though but will accept this first step) His reporting however remains slightly skewed and unbalanced to make his side slightly better (but then it is blog site so i must lighten up>)
He made it seem like the thunder and lightening was a result of my near victory. It was nothing so dramatic. It was a typical southern Louisiana thunderstorm.
And then he describes the second set as if came from behind to win. I must remind him that he was ahead 4-1 in the second set when i won 4 straight games. He had gotten so far ahead in the second set when he hired some young neighborhood children to play tennis on the adjoining court. I was playing well til they began and then i was ducking from all the stray balls flying my way from the rug rats. All Brett could do was smile. Once the rugrats went off to bother someone else i regained my game .
It was a good match. It was the first time however that i ever played tennis against someone in a leather jock and sash. That image finally became too much in the second set and allowed him to snatch victory away from me in the 2nd tie breaker 7-5
Congrats Brett
I give you credit when you don't play like an old man and when you actually hustle. You did good last night. I was shocked that you managed to get over that typical 6-3, 6-2 hump.
doubles? i have to warn you though, my husband is a tennis pro... lol...
something about handsome daddies smacking their balls around.
Congrats on the win. The pictures show that you deserved it.
Hey, I need a new doubles partner. I'm a pro at the net, but I need someone that will hustle at the base line. Interested in applying?
I am excellent at hustling on the baseline, but unfortunately my experience with DOUBLES hasn't been too good. I think that is because me and E.Shrew have talents at the baseline, but we shrivel up near the net. We may test how if we improved any as "team players" this weekend.
