Don't get GLAAD... be MAD!

I should never write after a grueling leg workout. I get super aggressive. Add to the fact that I haven't been getting any, and I am placed in a testosterone asswhooping mood. As I was working out this morning, I couldn't stop dwelling on the latest Howard Dean controversy.

I am stewing over the misguided attention to this controversy. I am mad as hell that I have friends Joe, Kevin M., etc. that would rather waste a vote on something stupid like the Green Party or some marijuana legalizing Communist Party than to vote for the DNC.

Instead of fighting with the DNC, we should be battling insidious organizations like the Focus on the Family, Christian Coalition, and The Christian Broadcasting Group. All of these organizations are trying to constitutionally ban gay marriage. Karl Rove, evil puppet master of the GOP, loves to use gays as punching bags to rile up the religious faithful (the GOP base) every single fucking time election season rolls around. We become the punching bags.

And what do we do about it? Not a damned thing! We'll be the star of GOP commercials blasting in all those rural redneck communities. Their message will be "If you let the Democrats gain control of Congress, Gays will run amock in the White House! They'll be getting married on the White House Lawns!" Then they'll choose the most faggy of all fags to show to the redneck minions what life would be like if the Democrats were in charge.

How does that make you feel? Why aren't you mad with the true enemies of your gay community? Why shoot the leadership of the DNC, when you should be fired up over Karl Rove, Pat Robertson, Dr. James Dobson, and Fred Phelps of Topeka, Kansas. Instead of passive aggressively refusing to vote for Democrats, we should be battling our true enemies!

How can we expect for Howard, Hillary and Nancy to lead us when we don't speakout for ourselves? Get out of your gayborhood, get in the face of your enemy, and confront them! I am talking about STRENGTH IN NUMBERS massively hounding and protesting these purveyors of gay hatred. Show them that we are tired of being punching bags everytime the election season rolls around! TIME TO FLEX OUR MUSCLES AND BE ACTIVE IN OUR OWN POLITICAL CLOUT! STOP BEING PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE PUSSIES!

Hmmmm! Brett for President?!?!? Does that mean we'd have shirtless views of Brett on TV and in the news, daily?

Ok, I'll vote Brett.

Yes I know I'm horrible for holding Dems accountable. But when Bill gave us Don't Ask, Don't Tell and encouraged Kerry to support marriage amendments how exactly am I supposed to react. When Dems are willing to support the Telco's attempts to create a tiered internet how should I react? I will not vote for someone without my interests at heart. And it's not about being gay. There's so much more to worry about than whether or not someone supports gay rights. But I am NOT willing to vote for a Dem and hope and pray they'll get into office and do the right thing. I did that...twice with Bill. You can see the coalition falling apart with Repubs right now. The traditional conservatives are pissed. They did what Brett is telling us all to do. Vote for the party and hope they have your interests at heart. Well those radicals didn't and now they're dissatisfied. I don't want to be put in that situation.

What exactly is the most faggy of all fags? And is that a bad thing? Focus on the Family and the rest of them aren't afraid of effeminate men (I don't think we should be either). If you watch their propoganda, it's all about gay sex and gay promiscuity. I stronly believe that's part of why they're pushing this marriage thing so hard is because it implicitly condones gay sex. Which is silly, everyone who's been in a long term relationship knows that the sex just dries up. But what's so wrong with faggy fags? I love them. And they're a part of this community too. A LARGE part.

I would totally agree with you Kalvin. Too many gay men marginalize effeminate men. Well I say if it wasn't for RuPaul and every other faggoty man out there being flamboyant and pushing the envelope none of us would be where we are today. In one discussion I had with Brett I told him most of the ideas that Repubs push have been radical only a decade ago. They haven't stopped discussing those radical ideas and now they're mainstream. On our side we have mostly pussies. If it's not safe they don't discuss it. Hillary learned the wrong lesson. Rather than being brave she has triangulated in the worst possible way. When she introduced her health plan she was a communist. It was such a radical idea to have a national health care plan. Now even the right is discussing it because they have to. We need to keep pushing the progressive agenda rather than running from it. The more we push it the more people understand it and the more successful we will be.

Ouch! Sounds like somebody has some jealousy issues. That's right, always blame someone else' it's never YOUR fault. No really, I believe you. Really.

My first instinct was to DELETE what Kevin M. wrote because some of his personal barbs at me were very biting. But you know what? I am going to keep everything he wrote. And by the way, I don't bitch about my salary anymore because I got a nice raise and bonus last year. AND... I don't bitch how small my house is. It is a four bedroom two bath house. Sure, it could be more ritzier... but if I bitched about it then that would make me one spoiled son of a bitch. I am not going to take the low road and dog you about what you bitch about or what quirky traits your personality has.

touche! I've gotta meet this Kevin! I've told him about his gay cocoon several times. Not all of us are like that or care only about gay issues. I definitely vote the overall progressive issues rather than one issue.

And the Green barb was for me. I voted Nader in 2000 and I'm still unapologetic about it. Look where we're finally getting with the Dems. They are finally realizing that the progressive wing of their party counts for something. Here's what Hillary's pollster has to say on the subject: "But while he said that his and Clinton's moderate wing of the party is"losing the struggle" in the long run, he didn't seem to think Clinton should be too worried about a primary challenge." Now why doesn't she need to be worried? Money. And that's the only reason. If you're so anxious to protect your right to get married (yeah I know Michael is anxious to get you to the chapel and hand over his keys) then your best bet is to elect a true progressive not just any Democrat.
