One Poor Bastard's Challenge
$175 in Eight Days. That is how much I have to live on until my next paycheck. I am going to start keep track of the money I have until my next paycheck. I am doing this to stay focused on WHY I MUST GET A BETTER JOB. This is not a cry for help. If I can't get by on $175 for eight days, then I am truly one spoiled American. Before anyone entertains the idea of trying to send me money, DON'T DO IT! That will only make me personally show up at your doorstep, tear up the check in a million pieces, and make you eat it. (BEFORE I put duct tape around your mouth and fuck the hell out of you for not listening!!!)
This starts my daily log. Let's call it "One Poor Bastard's Challenge". Will we learn something from this? Who knows? Let's see where it takes us.

mmmm... i can so relate, thanks for refocusing me...like what you say about if i cant make it then im a spoiled american? good stuff, i ought to know better.
I'd be careful how you threaten people. That last comment may actually encourage more guys to send money! *g*
On a more serious note, hang in there. Karma has a funny way of coming back to you.
A) Make sure to stay healthy was well as frugal.
B) Send me your address.
Do a big grocery shopping, and make your lunch every day. I I keep three people on about $200 every 7-10 days.
Make my lunch every day, cook in every evening. Can be boring but saves a hell of lot of money.
We are here for ya. Yea and send me that address so I can send you money and you can come up and...er...um...you know ;)
Love this, because I don't know what things cost down there. Four dollars for bottled water in a bar sounds extreme though.
Do you have to use the car, is it impossible to take transit, or is that unsafe where you live.
I'm downtown, right by the skytrain station, so, even though we own cars, rarely use them.
My comment about someone sending me money was geared towards one individual that knows my address and was going to send me something. I am going to KICK THEIR ASS if they do. But it was fun to throw that out there to see who would be interested in me showing up at their doorstep and aggressively manhandling them! ;)
Madgayhousewife: No... I live in South Louisiana. We have no public transportation systems. Every drives a big SUV or a big Ford F-550. There is a bus system in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, but it is almost entirely used by low income minorities. We don't have a fabulous transportation system like Atlanta or San Francisco. There is a stigma down here about the little public transportation we do have.
Just for that comment, I'm wiring you 1 cent. I want to see if you will drive to Dallas ... lol :)
Hang in there Brett! Thats almost a grad school budget, if I can do it, you can too :)
I am NOT a one penny HOOKER Jim!!! I may be a whore... but I am NOT a cheap whore! (lol!)
Alright already, a nickle it is! *lol
Hang in there buddy!
Hows the certification study going BTW?
Why oh why did I think of the Herbal Essence shampoo commericals...."Oh YES! Yes! Yes!" and imagine you doing a commerical for Ragu....???
If you can find a bag of frozen chicken breasts for cheap, that will keep you fed, and at least its somewhat healthy. And Hillshire Farms prepackaged cold cuts aren't really expensive, at least where I am...
I hope everything works out for you
I feel ya sexy... I've had quite a few weeks like that myself... those dried ramen packages can go a long way for little money ;)
I can't believe it is only 5 bucks for movie tickets down there, I assume it must've been a matinee but still...
